A cross between your standard motorhome and van, the Roadtrek 170 Versatile is the perfect example of a home away from your home when traveling.

Whether it is driving through traffic or fitting into a car-sized parking spot, the 170 Versatile is one of the easiest to maneuver thanks to the great handling of the Chevrolet Express 2500 regular van. With better fuel economy than most camper vans, along with the features of a full-sized motorhome, the 170-Versatile has all the trimmings of a top of the line Class B Camper Van and more.

More spacious than it appears at first glance, the 170-Versatile seats five and sleeps three thanks to an optional folding mattress at the front. Converting easily into a 6’2” double bed, the rear L-shaped lounge of the camper van also adds more space and comfort ability. And thanks to “across the rear” storage below the bed, there is plenty of room for the little extras you want to bring along. Additionally, the front cloverleaf dining table stores neatly out of the way, creating even more room for you to stretch out and relax.

The option of adding a flat screen TV, DVD player and entertainment system – all of which takes up very little room – provides for some much needed leisure time on those rainy days. With a feature that allows you to rotate the TV into aisle, you can kick back and watch your favorite show or movie from the most comfortable seat in the house – the front captains’ seats.

It doesn’t matter if you’re on your way to a soccer game with the kids, heading out of town for a weekend getaway, everyone can appreciate the driveability, parking ease and efficiency of the 170 Versatile. The combination of convenience, comfort and value help make it the perfect second vehicle for anyone.

Built on the Chevrolet Express 2500 regular van chassis the 2013 Roadtrek 170 Versatile has excellent maneuverability in heavy traffic and in tight spaces. It comes loaded with an assortment of useful features. For starters, it gets better gas mileage than most varieties of camper vans that are currently on the market. This vehicle is perfect for an active family. The rear power sofa easily converts into a comfortable double bed that is six foot, 2 inches. It sleeps up to four and seats up to seven. Folding mattresses that are optional are required in the front. There is an ample amount of space for your belongings. This is thanks to the across the rear storage that is below the bed. Another room can be created by placing the front cloverleaf dining table into storage.170_Versatile_38_Living_Arrangement_HR

There are dual screens on the backs of the front captain’s seats. The kids can use the screens to watch movies or play video games in the second row. Very little space is taken up by the home theater system and 19 inch flat screen TV. You can rotate the TV into the aisle, enabling the people sitting in the front captain’s seats to watch it.

If only one or two people are going on a trip, a built-in table and additional shelf space can be created by removing the lounge seat located behind the driver. A cabinet is able to be attached in its place. This can also provide you with additional space to hang clothes. After this change has been made, the rear bed will still be separate from the front sitting area. Three seats will remain in the front. If you need additional storage, the passenger side lounge seat can be replaced with an optional armoire. The armoire is perfect for long trips when additional clothing is needed.

The 2013 Roadtrek 170-Versatile also comes with a variety of options, including 110V 19″ LED TV W/Rotating Bracket, Onan Microlite Gas Generator – 2.8Kw, Platinum Interior Décor, 2013 Chevrolet Express 2500 Chassis Upgrade, “Screen Kit – Side and Rear, Continental Spare Tire Kit and SE Package – Silver Exterior W/Matching Lower Body.

A lot of people are throwing up their hands and giving up.INVENTORY2

The annual family summer vacation is in real jeopardy for a lot of people, as gas prices climb higher and higher with no end in sight.

A friend of mine gave up just the other night. He went on a rant, saying “they are taking everything away from us!” I never did figure out who they were, but it sounded like he had a point.

Roadtrek owners have no such worries. Their summer travel schedule is secure with the best selling class B camper van in North America. You won’t see many Roadtreks sitting idle this summer—they will be out on the open road!

Sure, gas prices are mind boggling, but not so much in the fuel efficient Roadtrek motorhome, which gets much better mileage than a full sized SUV. Parking is a breeze because of its smaller size—just slide into a normal car sized spot.

Inside, the Roadtrek stands out above all others. Never leave home again without your own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and shower. Enjoy all the comforts of home away from home, whether it’s a trip across town or that family vacation. Where you really save is after you reach your destination. No more waiting at busy restaurants or eating fast food, no more standing in restroom lines at busy venues.  And maybe best of all, no need for expensive hotels every night. You might find it cheaper in a Roadtrek and on the road than at home!

Dave Arbogast in Troy is the only place you need to shop for the best Roadtrek selection. Their entire selection is online at Dave Arbogast Class B Motorhomes. Gas prices are soaring, and a lot of people are beginning to scratch their heads.

The summer travel season is right around the corner, and many are putting travel plans on hold until the see where gas prices go.

The average price of gas is $3.52 a gallon nationally, and in California, it’s 40 cents more than that. That really adds up on a cross country trip, but there is a solution for those who still want to travel—Roadtrek.

Roadtrek is the best selling class b van in the country, and has been for the past 20 years. With gas prices increasing 34 cents over the past 2 weeks, Roadtreks make even more sense.

They are easy to drive. Parking is a breeze because of their smaller size. But the kicker is that Roadtreks are much more fuel efficient than full sized SUVs or RVs. And when gas costs what it costs today, that’s a big deal indeed.

The Roadtrek can help you save in other ways on your trip. You can sleep in the van, meaning no more expensive hotel rooms. Imagine how much that could save you over the course of a 2 week, cross country road trip. You can fix your own meals, meaning no more long waits at expensive restaurants. Keep that money in your pocket as well.

See, it’s not your vacation plans that need changing, just your transportation. And there is no place better to shop for a Roadtrek than at Dave Arbogast Van Depot in Troy, Ohio. They are the largest seller of new and used van conversions in the country, and are standing by to help you with your traveling needs. Give their van experts a call today at 1-866-975-3287!

I am beginning to think that the world has gone mad.

It’s even gotten to the point where I can deal with the unrest in the world, the craziness that is our political system, and all the little annoyances of everyday life. I have come to accept all that.

Just when you think you have heard everything…now we have the story from Alabama where a football fan of the Crimson Tide poisoned the soil around live oak trees on the Auburn campus, trees that fans traditionally toilet papered after major wins by the Auburn football program. One columnist even went so far as to call it murder  because living things were being killed.

What I need is a Roadtrek road trip. Seven to ten days away from the madness that is modern life, and the Roadtrek 170 Versatile is the perfect vehicle to escape in. Leave the cell phone at home, load up the fridge and just take off for wherever the road may take me.

If you really want to, you can travel for days without talking to another living soul. Load up the fridge before you leave, make your own meals in the kitchen, and sleep on the spacious bed in back. With the optional flat screen TV, you can play video games or watch movies, and for just a few days, not have to deal with the craziness going on in the world.

If this sounds like a good idea to you—get started on your class b motorhome experience at Dave Arbogast in Troy, Ohio. We make the buying experience as simple as possible by putting our entire inventory on line, and having an experienced sales staff that can answer all your questions. Give us a call at 1-866-975-3287 or stop by at 3540 South County Road 25-A.  An escape from the craziness is a short drive away!

A buddy of mine and I were talking the other day, trying to solve the problems of the world.

I don’t know how we got on the subject, but he started talking about traveling, and how annoying it was to go to an activity, and then have to go all the way back to the hotel to grab a shower.

“Well”, I said, “You don’t have that problem if you have a Roadtrek.”

When I explained to him that you can shower in a Roadtrek, the best selling Class B motorhome in North America for the past two decades, my friend, my pal, a guy I have known forever, called me a liar.

“You cannot shower in a van!”

Well, you can in a camper van, and that’s just one feature that makes Roadtrek so popular with travelers across the country. They never depart without the comforts of home; bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, entertainment center. It’s the coolest way to travel and you won’t believe how stress –free roaming the countryside can be.

People who own Roadtreks flat out love them—85% say they would purchase another one. You can’t get better validation than that. Around town or across the country—to the store or that national landmark you have always wanted to visit—the Roadtrek will get you there in comfort and style—and you never have to look for a restroom or restaurant. The sky is the limit in a Roadtrek.

I see that a blogger colleague of mine is boldly predicting a Green Bay victory over Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl. He is basing that pick on the fact that many Packer fans are taking conversion vans or camper vans to the game to save money.

While I applaud the intelligence of Packer fans, it’s a lousy way to predict a ballgame. And here is another point…my young friend is a fan of the Detroit Lions! Yea, those Lions. The team that recently went 0-16, the franchise that has not won a title since 1957, the team that has only played for a spot in the Super Bowl once (and lost that game 41-10!) What’s a Lions fan know about football?

The key to the Super Bowl is simple. Both quarterbacks will have their moments…they are that good. But Pittsburgh can run the ball and the Packers can’t…and they certainly won’t run the ball on the Steelers. Sooooo…Pittsburgh 27 Green Bay 19. By the way, if that’s the final score, I’ll win the office pool, but that’s another story!

Speaking of running (how’s that for a smooth segue?) I know many of you are thinking about trying to run away from this weather. I don’t blame you, but I’m not sure where to go. This weather seems to be everywhere. If you find a place warm and dry, there is no better way to get there that a Roadtrek Class B camper van. You can leave your cares, and the weather behind, and still have all the comforts of home. Get great fuel efficiency, and you will love the way the Roadtrek handles in heavy traffic. Never leave home without your own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, regardless of whether the trip is to Dallas for the big game, or across town to your daughter’s piano recital.

“And the sun is shinin’

And this road keeps windin’

Through the prettiest country

From Georgia to Tennessee

And I got the one I love beside me

My troubles behind me

I’m alive and I’m free

Who wouldn’t wanna be me?”

Country Music Superstar Keith Urban wrote it and sang it. Now I ask the question: Who wouldn’t want to be you when traveling the roads of America in a Roadtrek?

Roadtrek has been the number one selling Class B motorhome in America since 1990. That’s two decades folks, and it isn’t difficult to see why.

The features these vehicles include are almost ridiculous. A kitchen that is operational either on the fly or parked, clean bathroom facilities whenever and wherever you need them, your own private shower, and sleeping accommodations that come in handy at all times during the day, not just at night; are just a few of the things which makes a Roadtrek so special.

Roadtreks are also better equipped than many apartments. To say they offer the comforts of home is an understatement.  It’s the comforts of home while rolling across the country, or across town which makes a Roadtrek one of the most versatile vehicles on the road today.

Parking is a breeze with a Roadtrek as it slips right in to regular parking spaces. No more fast food, or waiting for a table at a busy restaurant at meal time. No more in and out of hotels every night, loading and unloading the vehicle.  It’s almost hassle free traveling and regardless of whether you’re going to the store or the kid’s athletic events; it performs as well in those situations as it does heading across country.

Who wouldn’t want to be you in a Roadtrek?
